In an attempt to satisfy their never ending fishing quest for the “lunker”, Sarosha Stockton and Brian Chard of Nelson, British Columbia, Canada have created the website KootenayAngler.com.

KootenayAngler.com is a website devoted to the pursuit and celebration of fishing in the Kootenay region of BC, specifically fishing in Kootenay Lake, Trout Lake, Cottonwood Lake, the Columbia River and everything that flows in between.

This fishing website provides photos, videos, links and relevant content to anglers and those fishing Kootenay Lake and the rest of British Columbia, especially those fishing from Nelson, Castlegar, & Kaslo, BC. As well, we hope to cater to those who dream of fishing the Kootenay region from elsewhere in the world.

The Kootenay region is Region 4 in the BC Fishing Regulations. Kootenay Lake is home of the Canadian record Gerrard Rainbow Trout (36 + pounds). The Kootenay region is also known for spectacular Rainbow Trout, Bull Trout, and Kokanee. The Kootenay Region offers exceptional fishing opportunities in amazing scenery for fly fishing, spin casting, and trolling in a boat.
